Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972, is an American actress. She is known best for her role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), where she is twice winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She also appeared on the NBC miniseries Whitney (2011-2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) as well as TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn was conceived in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12 in 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant for the United States Navy, and her father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service. She was raised in a family that was constantly moving, including in Washington, D.C., Arizona, and Japan. She followed the example of her father and grandfather by studying painting, architecture, and drawing since a young age. She continued to study the visual arts, but had an interest in acting that was growing and was exposed to contemporary theater in college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a BA in Studio Art. Seehorn started her career in college as an actor, and was supported by her acting instructor. She worked many ancillary positions in the theatre industry in D.C. to try to get noticed. However, she never managed to secure major roles in local theater productions and had be able to find odd jobs in order to survive however, she continued working in the film industry as a teacher filmmaker. Soon she began to be involved in more TV productions. The most frequent comparisons she was made was to Bea Arthur, whom was described by her as "very wry," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. A majority of these parts were then removed after just two or three seasons. Seehorn was cast as Kim Wexler in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn is Kim Wexler, who is an attorney and the lover of Jimmy McGill/SaulGoodman (Bob Odenkirk).
