Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born to British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer and Chris Watson, a teacher, in Paris, France. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire, where she attended Dragon School. Emma decided she wanted to be an actor from when she was six years old. She studied for a few years in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. This part-time theatre school taught her singing, dancing, and acting. When she was ten Emma was already involved taking part in Stagecoach productions and school productions. The casting process began in 1999 Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone 2001, the film adaptation by J.K. Rowling's bestselling book. Emma was found by casting agents through her Oxford theater teacher. After eight auditions David Heyman informed Emma and Rupert Grint that they were chosen to play Hermione Granger as well as Harry Potter. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film set records for opening-day and weekend sales and was also the highest-grossing feature of 2001. The film's performances as well as those of its young stars were well-received by the critics. The widely distributed British newspaper, 'The Daily Telegraph', called her performance "admirable". Emma received five awards for her role in the film, including the Young Artist Award, for Leading Young Actress In a Film. Film. After the debut film in the hugely successful franchise, Emma became one of the most popular actresses across the world. In the ten years that followed, she played the character of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma has received two Critics' Choice Award nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her roles in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
